Why weren’t the adults listening? 🚩
In 2002, I was 12. I was worried about middle school dances and Lip Smacker gloss. But while we were growing up, the foundation for the ‘Forever Wars’ and the economic shifts we’re living through now was being laid and one man was shouting into the void about it…
Ron Paul stood on the House floor in 2002 and essentially predicted the next two decades of our lives. As a kid, I have an excuse for not paying attention at the time… but what was everyone else’s excuse? 🤔
Watching this clip from his recent interview with Tucker Carlson, it’s mind-blowing how someone could be labeled a “loon” for simply calling out the truth.
Here’s the reality:
- He wasn’t playing the “Republican vs. Democrat” game.
- He was calling out the “War Hungry” machine that profits off forever wars while the rest of us deal with the fallout.
- He saw the future of our economy and our civil liberties before many of us even knew what those terms really meant.
Here’s the break down of his predictions vs. the 2026 reality we’re living in.
The “Forever War” Trap
The 2002 Prediction: Paul warned that invading Iraq was based on “falsehoods and distortions.” He predicted that once we entered, we wouldn’t have an exit strategy, and it would lead to a “preemptive war” doctrine where we attack nations that haven’t attacked us.
The 2026 Reality: We spent nearly 20 years in Afghanistan and Iraq. As he predicted, these wars “lasted longer and had no resolution.” He also warned this would create more enemies than it killed; today, the Middle East is more unstable than ever, and the “war machine” has shifted its focus to new proxy conflicts (like Ukraine), exactly as he warned about the profit-motives of the “military-industrial complex.”
The Death of Privacy (The Patriot Act)
The 2002 Prediction: Around the time of his speech, he was one of the few voices warning that the Patriot Act would be used not against terrorists, but against American citizens. He said civil liberties are always the first “casualties of war.”
The 2026 Reality: From the Snowden revelations to the surveillance we see today, his “conspiracy theory” that the government would monitor our phone records and bank accounts became a standard operating procedure. We now live in the “surveillance state” he described when we were kids.
Economic Inflation & The Devaluation of the Dollar
The 2002 Prediction: Paul argued that printing money to pay for these wars would lead to a “currency crisis.” He predicted that by moving further away from sound money (the gold standard), the Federal Reserve would cause massive inflation that would “accidentally extract wealth from the savers.”
The 2026 Reality: Look at your grocery bill. The “invisible tax” of inflation has eroded the middle class. While the government bails out big banks (which he also predicted in 2008), the average mama in the Midwest is struggling to keep up with the cost of living because our dollar doesn’t buy what it used to.
The Rise of the “Independent Mindset”
The 2002 Prediction: He predicted that the two-party system (Republicans and Democrats) would eventually become “interchangeable” on the issues that actually matter, like war and spending. He said people would eventually “wake up” and seek an alternative.
The 2026 Reality: This is exactly what you’re seeing now. The “Silent Majority” or the “Remnant” (as he calls it) are tired of the labels. People are gravitating toward podcasts like Tucker’s because they’re looking for the truth that the “approved” news channels won’t tell them.
It’s time to stop looking at the (R) or (D) next to a name and start listening to the PEOPLE who have the guts to speak the truth, even when it’s “unapproved” by the powers that be.
Eventually, time proves everything. Let’s make sure we’re on the right side of history now, not just decades down the road.
Us Millennials are now the adults in the room! Time to wake up and take charge. 👊🏻
